I have wagered on millions of hands of vingt-et-un. I started sneaking into the gambling halls when I was 16. I have gambled on online chemin de fer, I have counted cards, and worked as part of a team for a little while. With all that said I have still lost a lot of bankroll at blackjack. The gambling halls have made it very hard to defeat the house.
I still enjoy the game and play on a frequent basis. Over this time period I have played a variation of 21 called "The Take it Leave it Method". You definitely will not get flush with this tactic or defeat the casino, nonetheless you will experience a lot of fun. This tactic is founded on the fact that vingt-et-un seems to be a game of runs. When you are hot your on fire, and when you’re not you’re NOT!
I wager with basic strategy 21. When I do not win I bet the lowest amount allowed on the next hand. If I lose again I wager the lowest amount allowed on the subsequent hand again etc. As soon as I win I take the winnings paid to me and I bet the initial bet again. If I win this hand I then keep in play the winnings paid to me and now have double my original wager on the table. If I win again I take the payout paid to me, and if I succeed the next hand I leave it for a total of four times my original wager. I keep wagering this way "Take it Leave it etc". Once I do not win I lower the action back down to the original bet.
I am very strict and never "chicken out". It gets very exciting on occasion. If you succeed at a few hands in sequence your wagers go up very quick. Before you know it you are betting $100-200/ hand. I have had awesome runs a couple of times now. I departed a $5 table at the Wynn a few years ago with $750 after 35 mins using this technique! And a number of months ago in Macau I left a table with $1200!
You have to understand that you can lose a lot faster this way too!. But it really makes the game more exciting. And you will be astonished at the streaks you see betting this way. Here is a chart of what you would wager if you continue winning at a $5 game.
Wager five dollar
Take 5 dollar paid-out to you, leave the first $5 bet
Bet 5 dollar
Leave $5 paid-out to you for a total bet of 10 dollar
Bet ten dollar
Take 10 dollar paid to you, leave the original $10 bet
Wager 10 dollar
Leave ten dollar paid to you for a total wager of twenty dollar
Bet 20 dollar
Take 20 dollar paid to you, leave the first twenty dollar bet
Bet twenty dollar
Leave 20 dollar paid to you for a total wager of $40
Wager forty dollar
Take 40 dollar paid to you, leave the original $40 wager
Bet 40 dollar
Leave 40 dollar paid-out to you for a total bet of eighty dollar
Wager 80 dollar
Take eighty dollar paid-out to you, leave the original $80 bet
Bet 80 dollar
Leave 80 dollar paid to you for a total bet of one hundred and sixty dollar
Bet one hundred and sixty dollar
Take $160 paid to you, leave the original $160 bet
If you left at this instance you would be up three hundred and 15 dollars !!
It is hard to go on a run this long, but it can happen. And when it does you can NOT deviate and lower your bet or the end result won’t be the same.
